The Toyota 2000GT represented a culmination of the latest technological advancements of the time. In speed trials in 1966, the car set three world records and 13 new international records. Its outright performance and beautiful form would see it take its place in the annals of automotive history. In all, a total of 337 units (including 115 for export) were hand-built by skilled craftsmen at a pace of eight cars a month.
